Simple Pleasures
The Little Things That Fill My Cup
These are the simple things that bring me joy, and so often, the ones I share with the people I love. Pull up a chair and get to know me a little better.
Gardening
Gardening is something new I started three years ago, and I absolutely love it. It gives me a chance to be outside in nature, down and dirty in the earth (which my Taurus self loves), and it always makes me feel grounded. I have volunteered at a retirement home for over two years, and I have found that one of the things the ladies miss most is gardening. So they love to share their gardening stories with me while seeing pictures of my own garden.
One of my favorite things to do is make bouquets from my own garden and bring them to the people I love.
Mahjong
I recently learned how to play Mahjong by taking lessons, and I was hooked! Since then, I’ve started a monthly Mahjong group, and we rotate between each other’s houses.
I’ve found that taking up a new hobby or interest is a wonderful way to meet new women and make new friends. It’s such a great way to connect with others.
Lake Life
We live on a lake, and it’s truly my dream. I love being around the water, and I love the peace and tranquility of it all. Just looking out at the lake makes me feel good.
Hosting Friends
I’ve come to love hosting gatherings of friends. To me, a table setting is almost a work of art, and decorating and setting the table is one of my favorite ways to express my creativity.
Best of all, it’s a wonderful way to spend time connecting with friends, deepen friendships and have conversations that inspire and motivate you to be a better human being and friend.
Knitting
This one is brand new for me! I’ve signed up for a knitting class in December, and am so excited to learn this craft. I’m looking forward to meeting other women who love to knit and create.
I find the idea of knitting so relaxing, almost a form of meditation; while at the same time doing a craft that allows me to expres my creative side. Check back to see how my first projects turn out!
